The Future of Facial Fillers

Learn about dermal filler options at our Torrance plastic surgery practice.
Like most areas of medicine, aesthetics is changing rapidly. One of the largest improvements has been in the area of dermal facial fillers. We use these to help our clients from Redondo Beach,  Manhattan Beach, and throughout the South Bay restore volume and fill in deep lines instantly. There are many options on the market and our Torrance plastic surgery practice is proud to offer just about all of them!

Restore Volume Instantly

Some of the biggest requests we’ve had are to provide a subtle lift to the mid-face and add or restore fullness to the cheeks. The breakthrough product in making this happen is JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC, created by Allergan, the same manufacturer as BOTOX® Cosmetic. VOLUMA is made of hyaluronic acid, which is a compound that has the ability to hold up to 100 times its weight in water. This acid, naturally found in human skin, is responsible for retaining moisture in the skin. The areas treated with VOLUMA and other hyaluronic-based fillers, appear more hydrated, plump and youthful. It is effective in filling in the space between collagen and elastin fibers (lines and wrinkles). If you don’t like your results, which is rare with our patients,  hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved (as described in this blog post). Another really great thing about VOLUMA is that it can last up to 2 years!

Stay Tuned for More Options

The future looks bright for facial fillers and many manufacturers are following suit with what Allergan has already done with VOLUMA. We’ve been told that Galderma and Merz are both coming out with new facial products over the next couple months.

If you’re interested in determining whether VOLUMA or any of our other facial fillers might be right for you, contact us online or call (310) 784-0644 to schedule a complimentary consultation with one of our skilled nurse injectors.
