Mommy Makeover- Get that Glow

If I could have the skin of anyone it wouldn’t be JLo (although her glow IS amazing) it would be our esthetician, Erica. She has this gorgeous, clear, vibrant, silky skin that seems too perfect to be attainable. I met with her for my skin analysis and facial (our New Patient Facial is complimentary for every new client to our spa) and she asked me what my goals were for my skin. I explained that the primary concerns were pore size in my T-zone and rosacea. I also don’t like the dark spots on … Continue reading

Mommy Makeover- Eyebrows Are So Hot Right Now

When I said I was suffering from extreme hair loss after Kai was born I wasn’t just talking about the hair on my head. My eyebrows are becoming very sparse and my right eyebrow has a noticeable bald-spot. In our office the best solution for eyebrow thinning is permanent makeup. Our cosmetic makeup artist, Valerie is a true gem. She is always in a good mood, incredibly thoughtful and kind and a true artist. She does all our permanent makeup including eyebrows, eyeliner and nipple-areolar tattooing for our breast cancer patients. Her work is amazing … Continue reading

Mommy Makeover- The First Step

I like to do the easy things first. In the interview for my current position when I was asked “What would you say is one of your flaws” I didn’t come out and say procrastination- that’s not the right word- but I did say that I tend to leave difficult tasks on the table until I have a chance to analyze them. So, I decided for my Mommy Makeover that I would work up to diet and exercise. I will analyze the logistics of those before I jump right in. Babies don’t like it when … Continue reading

A New Mommy and Her Makeover

My Mommy Makeover- The Beginning About 4 months ago I had a baby. He is insanely adorable- all cheeks with a toothless smile that could melt the heart of the abominable snowman. He was unplanned (don’t judge) and by far, the most exciting surprise of my life. I worked really hard the first trimester to not gain a ton of weight by eating really clean and exercising often. By the second trimester most of that intention was violently thrown out the window. Between the pregnancy hormones and the insane buildout of our new practice I … Continue reading

Tattooing after Breast Reconstruction

Valerie Gilbert has been in the beauty industry for over 20 years. She serves the entire Los Angeles and Orange County cities and receives referrals from prominent plastic surgeons and physicians. She became interested in Cosmetic Tattooing after seeing someone who had re-constructive breast surgery following a bout with breast cancer.  Through the art of tattooing, her areolas were restored to look natural. “I was impressed by the fact that this art could change how someone could view him or herself – whether out of convenience, circumstance or necessity” . Valerie has been trained by … Continue reading

Skincare Recommendations- Jen’s Beauty Tips

The concept of beauty is such a personal experience and one I am passionate about.  I have spent a great amount of time finding the right balance for my skin and I like to center my patients’ treatments based on their skin’s needs, but also their goals.  There is a misconception that in order to have great skin and look our best that there is only one route that works.  I had to learn over the years that it’s not just one particular thing that makes the difference, its combing neurotoxins, such as botox and/or … Continue reading
