ThermiTight®

Even when you feel youthful, fit, and healthy, sometimes your skin doesn’t tell the same story. Sagging, loose skin is an unfortunate consequence of aging, and one that can sneak up on you even when you’re in your prime. For people considering a nonsurgical approach to skin tightening, ThermiTight is an excellent option available at our Torrance, CA, practice. ThermiTight uses heat energy to firm up the skin, creating lasting results with little to no downtime.

If you would like to learn more about ThermiTight, request a consultation online or call South Bay Plastic Surgeons at (310) 784-0644 and one of our helpful staff members will schedule your appointment.

Where Can ThermiTight Be Used?

ThermiTight is especially well-known for improving the look of loose skin on the lower face, particularly the jawline and chin. However, the technology can also address sagging skin on other areas of the body, such as the arms, abdomen, and thighs.

Am I a Good Candidate?

ThermiTight is best for people with mild to moderate laxity. For more severe sagging, a facelift or other surgical procedure may be a better choice. During your consultation, your provider at South Bay Plastic Surgeons can help you choose the best option for your needs.

ThermiTight might be a good option for you if you have:

  • Looseness or loss of definition along the jawline
  • The appearance of a double chin
  • Sagging neck skin
  • Upper arm “jiggle” or “wings”
  • Abdominal skin laxity
  • “Flabby” loose skin on areas such as the inner thighs

The Science Behind ThermiTight

ThermiTight uses ThermiRF® technology, a form of directed radiofrequency energy that produces sleeker contours on the face and body. The radiofrequency energy generates heat to contract the skin and stimulate collagen production for improved firmness. The ThermiTight device also uses a very small, subcutaneous probe to melt fat for even more dramatic improvement. The device operates at a precise temperature to ensure the surrounding tissues are not damaged.

Your ThermiTight Procedure

ThermiTight is a minimally invasive treatment. Your ThermiTight procedure is performed here in our Torrance office with a local anesthetic. You can expect to be here for up to 2 hours, although some visits are significantly shorter. The length of your appointment typically depends on the size of the area you’re treating.

Once your skin is completely numb, your provider guides a small, thin probe just beneath your skin’s surface. This probe emits radiofrequency energy to liquefy fat and stimulate the tissue to tighten. Typically, the treatment isn’t painful, although you may experience a sensation of warmth or tingling at your treatment site.

Incisions made during ThermiTight don’t require suturing. Instead, your provider simply applies a small piece of surgical tape to the area. There’s no need to take time away from work or any of your other usual activities after your visit. Because ThermiTight uses a local anesthetic, you’ll be able to drive yourself home.

The results of your ThermiTight treatment will not be immediately evident. Instead, you’ll see changes begin to develop in the days and weeks following your procedure. Depending on the significance of the condition you’d like to treat, you may benefit from a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart.

Although ThermiTight does not stop the aging process, it can turn back the clock on your face, arms, or tummy. And by practicing good skincare habits, including avoiding sun exposure, you can help maintain your results for the long term.
