How Much Does Lip Augmentation Cost in Torrance and Los Angeles?

Your lip augmentation cost will vary depending on the amount of product you need to achieve your desired look, which product you use, and whether you are using other filler to rejuvenate your face. Our fillers are priced competitively for the Torrance, Long Beach, and Manhattan Beach area and reflect our injectors’ experience and skill. Coming in for a consultation will help us determine the cost for your unique procedure.

What Can Lip Fillers Do?

Modern lip fillers are more versatile than ever. Depending on the product and technique, lip injections can:

  • Add volume to naturally thin or aging lips
  • Define the lip border (vermilion border) for a more sculpted shape
  • Enhance the cupid’s bow for a heart-shaped appearance
  • Correct asymmetry between top and bottom lips
  • Improve lip color for a more youthful, rosy appearance
  • Smooth vertical lip lines (also called “smoker’s lines” or perioral wrinkles)

Benefits of Lip Fillers

Lip fillers are a popular choice for patients who want to enhance their lips without surgery. Benefits include:

  • Customizable results – from subtle refinement to a more noticeable pout
  • Little to no downtime – many patients return to regular activities right after
  • Temporary but long-lasting – results can last 6–12 months, depending on the filler
  • Non-permanent – ideal for first-time patients or those who prefer flexibility
  • Minimal discomfort – treatments are quick and well tolerated with numbing options

Good Lip Augmentation Candidates

Simply put: Full, plump lips are a hallmark of a youthful, sexy appearance — but not too full. (Think Kylie Jenner.) Most women looking for lip augmentation are concerned about looking unnatural. We’re conscious of this, and we strive for proportionally fuller results that still look natural.

A good candidate for lip augmentation usually has thin lips and wants to create a fuller look. You may benefit from lip enhancement if you smile and your top lip or both lips disappear. For patients with uneven lips, augmentation can improve the shape of the mouth.

Lip Augmentation Fillers

The FDA has approved both Restylane Silk and JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA to both augment the lips and reduce perioral lines — the fine lines that gradually develop around the mouth.

Our aesthetic specialists also use RHA® fillers to help create the ideal lip shape by sharply defining the line where the lip and skin connect (called the vermilion border).

JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA vs. Restylane Silk

Juvederm Volbella Logo

Both products can produce desirable results, but the 2 fillers are not completely interchangeable. The consistency of VOLBELLA is slightly thicker than Silk (although it’s thinner than other JUVÉDERM fillers) and creates a plumper appearance. Silk’s thinner consistency may be better for smoothing fine lines or for patients who want very subtle lip enhancement.

VOLBELLA, which became available in the U.S. in October 2016, has been successfully used by aesthetic specialists in Europe since 2011. It uses the same innovative technology that JUVÉDERM first used in formulating VOLUMA®, which restores volume in the cheeks.

Restylane Silk Logo

One primary difference: VOLBELLA tends to produce longer-lasting results in most cases. It has been clinically proven to enhance lips for up to a year. Restylane Silk injections usually need to be repeated at 6-month intervals to maintain the results. The diffusion of fillers is different for each patient, however, and the duration of the results may differ for you.

What To Expect During Your Lip Filler Appointment

Lip filler treatments typically take 30 to 45 minutes. Here’s how it works:

  1. Consultation: Your injector will assess your lips and discuss your goals.
  2. Prep: A topical numbing cream may be applied for comfort.
  3. Injection: Using a fine needle or cannula, the filler is placed with precision.
  4. Results: You’ll see immediate improvement, with full results after minor swelling subsides (typically within 48–72 hours).

Recovery & Results

You may experience mild swelling, redness, or bruising that resolves within a few days. Most patients return to work or social activities the same day.

To optimize your results:

  • Avoid strenuous activity, alcohol, or excessive salt for 24 hours
  • Use cold compresses to reduce swelling
  • Sleep slightly elevated the first night
  • Don’t massage or press on your lips

How Long Do Lip Fillers Last?

  • JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA™: Up to 12 months
  • Restylane® Silk: About 6 months
  • RHA® Fillers: Around 9–12 months depending on the product and your metabolism

To make your results last:

  • Follow all post-treatment instructions
  • Use SPF lip balm
  • Stay hydrated and maintain a healthy lifestyle
  • Schedule regular maintenance appointments

Combining Treatments

Lip enhancement combined with other nonsurgical facial treatments can produce comprehensive results for patients concerned about early signs of aging. Thinning lips, crow’s feet, and reduced facial volume are typical age-related concerns that we address at our med spa.

Patients who come in for lip injections may also choose BOTOX® Cosmetic injections for wrinkles around the eyes. Additional fillers in the JUVÉDERM and Restylane families, along with RADIESSE, can restore volume in areas such as the nasolabial folds and under the eyes.

Lip Filler FAQ

Does lip filler hurt?

Most patients feel minimal discomfort during their lip filler appointment. A numbing cream is applied before treatment, and most lip fillers contain lidocaine for added comfort.

When can I use a straw, kiss, or wear lipstick?

Lipstick: After 24 hours

Straws: After 48 hours

Kissing: Once swelling subsides (usually within 48–72 hours)

Are there side effects?

Mild swelling, bruising, and tenderness are common. Rare risks include lumps or vascular occlusion, which your injector will monitor and treat if necessary. Hyaluronic acid-based fillers can be reversed with hyaluronidase, so in the event of complications, your treatment can be safely undone.

Can I get lip filler while pregnant or breastfeeding?

No. Cosmetic injectables are not recommended during pregnancy or while nursing due to a lack of safety data.

How should I prepare for my lip filler appointment?

Avoid alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, and fish oil supplements for 3 to 5 days prior to reduce your bruising risk. Please arrive with a clean face and hydrate well.
