Learn more about CoolSculpting® in Torrance, CA
In Torrance, South Bay Plastic Surgeons offers the FDA-cleared CoolSculpting® procedure to safely and effectively reduce subcutaneous fat. CoolSculpting is a fantastic option for people from Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, and throughout the South Bay who are hesitant to undergo liposuction or surgical fat removal. It is also a great addition to other options for body contouring.

How Does CoolSculpting Work?

This innovative procedure is based on science that found that fat cells are more sensitive to cold temperatures than other tissues. When exposed to controlled cooling, fat cells freeze and die while surrounding tissues are unharmed. Treated fat cells are gradually metabolized and excreted through the body’s natural cleansing processes. This slow cellular death means that the skin shrinks along with the fat so patients with good skin elasticity won’t have loose skin. In about 2 months, approximately 20 to 25% of the fat in treated areas are gone forever! Visit our online patient photo gallery to see some of our actual CoolSculpting before & after photos.

What Happens During a CoolSculpting Treatment?

The treatment process is fairly simple. A specially designed applicator is placed on the area of unwanted fat and activated to begin cooling. We have a range of applicators to accommodate most areas of unwanted fat such as a double chin, love handles, or a belly bulge. Because we want our CoolSculpting patients to be comfortable during the 60-minute cooling process (per area), our med spa has a dedicated “CoolSculpting Getaway” room complete with Netflix and iPads. Once the treatment cycle is complete, a certified CoolSculpting provider will perform a manual massage on the area for 2 minutes.

CoolSculpting is appropriate for most adults. We start with a consultation to determine if you are a good candidate, talk in-depth about the procedure, and discuss pricing. If you’re interested in the procedure, contact us online or schedule an appointment by calling (310) 784-0644 .
