The BOTOX® Brow Lift: How It Works & What To Expect

Woman in Los Angeles, CA who has received BOTOX to rejuvenate the appearance of her forehead

Did you know you can lift your brows using just a little BOTOX? Available at our med spa serving Torrance and Redondo Beach, the BOTOX brow lift elevates your brow for a more youthful look without surgery or downtime. It’s a quick, minimally invasive secret weapon for boosting your look, and it’s becoming a favorite treatment for men and women alike.

Read on to learn more about what this treatment involves, how it compares to surgery, and whether it may be worth a try at your next med spa visit.

What Is a BOTOX Brow Lift?

A BOTOX brow lift is a nonsurgical brow lift alternative that uses neurotoxin injections to lift your eyebrows. Your injector may use BOTOX or its sister products Dysport® and Jeuveau®, which work in essentially the same way. Easing specific muscles in your forehead and around your eyes allows your brows to naturally and subtly lift, creating a more relaxed and youthful look.

This treatment has become popular as a minimally invasive alternative to brow lift surgery, which offers longer-lasting results but also requires incisions and some downtime. (More on that below!)

How Does it Work?

BOTOX interrupts the signals from your brain that tell certain muscles to contract, reducing how much those specific muscles move. In a BOTOX brow lift, BOTOX relaxes the facial muscles that pull your brows downward into a frowning or “deep thinking” expression.

On top of creating a subtle lifting effect, this process carries the added benefit of smoothing away frown lines, the vertical “11s” between your eyebrows. A few more strategically placed injections may also reduce horizontal forehead lines and crow’s feet for even more rejuvenation of the upper face. How Does a BOTOX Brow Lift Compare to a Surgical Brow Lift?

Surgical brow lifts last longer, but they’re also more invasive and involve a longer recovery. It takes most people between 1 and 2 weeks to resume normal activity after brow lift surgery, whereas a BOTOX brow lift allows you to resume your usual routine that same day. Fortunately, neither BOTOX brow lifts nor the endoscopic brow lifts we perform at SBPS leave any visible scarring.

You may be a better candidate for brow lift surgery if you’re looking for a dramatic, long-lasting lift. However, a BOTOX brow lift is a great starter treatment for anyone searching for a subtle result or who wants to “try on” a temporary brow lift before opting for surgery.

What Is It Like to Get a BOTOX Brow Lift?

A BOTOX brow lift involves a quick series of injections around your brows and forehead using a tiny needle. The treatment typically takes less than 20 minutes—quick enough that you can have it done on your lunch break. Expect little to no recovery, other than some possible redness around the injection sites that resolves within a day or 2.

How Long Does a BOTOX Brow Lift Last?

BOTOX brow lifts last until the neurotoxin wears off, which typically takes 3 to 4 months. Note that it will take between 7 and 10 days for your initial results to appear as the product takes effect.
