What Is a Breast Augmentation With Lift?

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and age can all leave the breasts deflated and sagging. In most cases, a breast augmentation on its own will not restore the breasts’ appearance. Adding a breast lift with the implants raises the breasts higher on the chest wall and improves their size and shape for a comprehensive transformation.

How Much Are Breast Implants With a Lift in Torrance and Los Angeles?

Our board-certified plastic surgeons customize this procedure to fit your aesthetic goals and needs. As such, we can only provide general cost estimates on our Pricing page until we meet with you in person to discuss your procedure.

Many patients choose to combine procedures to get the best result for only one operation and recovery period. It also means that they only need to pay for one set of facility and anesthesia fees, as well as for medication and compression garments. We also offer financing options for patients looking for a more flexible way to pay for their procedures.

  • Safety: We use the Keller Funnel® for “no-touch” implant placement; this is safer, more hygienic, and reduces the risk of capsular contracture.
  • Minimal Scarring: Our plastic surgeons use multiple-layer suture closure to optimize incision healing and achieve the most discreet cosmetic outcome.
  • Preview Your Outcome: During your consultation, you can “try on” physical implant sizers and visualize your ideal results with our VECTRA® 3D imaging system.
  • Enhanced Comfort: We work only with board-certified anesthesiologists and use long-lasting local anesthetics to keep you comfortable during and after your procedure.
  • Personalized Results: Our surgeons tailor their techniques to suit your individual needs; they work closely with you to help you achieve your ideal look.

Our team of breast enhancement experts operates in our on-site, state-of-the-art surgical center, ensuring unsurpassed technology, safety, comfort, and convenience.

Am I a Good Candidate for Breast Implants With a Lift?

Even though women who have had children are often great candidates for a breast lift with augmentation, any woman who wants to enhance the size of her breasts and reduce sagging can benefit from this procedure.

Breast implants alone cannot provide a “lifted” appearance and may actually exacerbate sagging by adding extra weight to the breasts. Our breast enhancement experts will evaluate your breasts, listen to your goals, and recommend the best procedure or surgical combination to give you your desired results.

Your Breast Enhancement Options

Our board-certified plastic surgeons will discuss your procedure options with you during your consultation. The decisions you make regarding your breast augmentation are based primarily on your personal preferences; however, your surgeon may recommend certain options based on your goals, fitness level, and physical characteristics.

Breast Implants

Your choice of breast implants—silicone vs. saline, shaped or round, moderate to high profile plus—is the same as for patients who aren’t combining the procedure with a breast lift. We use implant sizers and the VECTRA® 3D imaging system to help you select the size, shape, and profile that creates the look you want.

Breast Lift Incisions

Incisions for the breast lift will, in most cases, be either a vertical lift or an anchor lift, depending on the degree of breast sagging. For women with minimal sagging, the doughnut or circumareolar lift may be an option.

A vertical lift, also called a lollipop lift, involves an incision around the areola and another down the center of the breast, from the areola to the crease. Your surgeon adds a short, horizontal incision just above the crease for an anchor lift (forming an inverted T shape).

Your Breast Augmentation and Lift Procedure

We perform breast lift with implant procedures on an outpatient basis at our state-of-the-art, custom-designed surgical suite. Your surgeon will tailor their techniques to your needs, depending on the amount of sagging, the quality of your skin, and your cosmetic goals.

During the surgery, you will be placed under general anesthesia. Your surgeon will insert the implants by creating a pocket in the breasts. Our breast experts specialize in the newer “vertical lift” technique, which involves reshaping the breast tissue before removing excess skin and closing the incisions. This advanced method creates better breast projection and elevates the nipple to a more aesthetically pleasing position.

Recovery After Breast Augmentation and Lift

We will provide you with detailed postoperative instructions so you know exactly what to expect during your recovery period. Depending on your pain tolerance, you can manage the initial soreness and discomfort with prescription medication, over-the-counter pain relief, or a pain pump, if needed.

While you are healing, there will be some restrictions on bathing, sleeping positions, and activity levels. We recommend you start going for short walks as soon as you feel up to it and gradually ease into more strenuous activities over time once your doctor clears you for it. You will also need to wear a special support bra to reduce swelling and enhance the healing process.

Can I Combine a Breast Lift With Implants and Other Procedures?

Many patients choose to add additional procedures to their breast implants with lift surgery. Popular options include a tummy tuck and liposuction. Together, this combination of breast enhancement and body contouring is commonly called a mommy makeover and can yield dramatic results.

Breast Augmentation and Lift FAQ

Can a breast augmentation with lift correct asymmetry?

Yes, this combined procedure can even out asymmetrical breasts by using different implant sizes and/or adjusting the lift to create a more balanced appearance.

Will breastfeeding be affected?

While many women can still breastfeed after this procedure, reduced milk production is possible, depending on the incision placement and technique used. We typically recommend that patients wait until their families are complete before pursuing surgery; however, if future breastfeeding is a possibility, your plastic surgeon can tailor their approach to accommodate it as much as possible.

How long does the surgery take?

A breast augmentation with lift typically takes 2 to 4 hours, depending on the complexity of the procedure.

How soon can I see the results?

Your initial results will be visible immediately after surgery. However, it will take a few months for the swelling and bruising to subside and for your implants to “drop and fluff” and settle into their final position.
