Dr. Ni-Jui James Liang, a board-certified plastic surgeon and active member of The Aesthetic Society, is experienced in microsurgery/complex reconstructive, and cosmetic/aesthetic plastic surgery procedures. He specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery for the body and breasts, along with facial rejuvenation procedures. He has also completed additional training years in both reconstructive and cosmetic/aesthetic plastic surgery to enhance his surgical results.

Research & Education

Dr. Liang’s higher education began at the University of Maryland, where he was a Dean’s Scholar, a member of the honors program, and a computer science major with an upper-level concentration in biology. He earned his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, becoming a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, of which only the top 20% of graduating medical students nationwide are eligible as candidates.

While a student at VCU, Dr. Liang was engaged in multiple research efforts, including for the Department of Orthopedics and the Radiation Oncology-VCU Radiation Physics Department. Dr. Liang was also selected for membership in the Pathology Honor Society based on his academic and research accomplishments.

Impressive Training

Dr. Liang then completed a 6-year plastic surgery residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center, with special emphasis on microsurgery reconstruction of the breast. He continued his training with a yearlong hand and microsurgery fellowship at the Buncke Clinic in San Francisco, CA, before joining Saint Luke’s Hospital System in Kansas City, MO, as an attending plastic surgeon.

Additionally, Dr. Liang most recently completed a 1-year cosmetic/aesthetic plastic surgery fellowship at The Wall Center in Shreveport, LA, where he honed his aesthetic surgical skills under some of the nation’s top board-certified plastic surgeons. His extensive training and professional experience helped him earn this coveted fellowship from among an elite, international pool of applicants.
