After Massive Weight Loss, Breast Lift Before & After Photos

This patient is a 61 year old nurse who had a laparoscopic gastric bypass followed by weight loss of 120 pounds over 18 months. She is 5ft 6 inches tall her maximum weight was 280 pounds with a Body Mass Index of 45. Her weight stabilized at 160 pounds and a Body mass Index of 25.
 
When she was seen by an Association of South Bay Plastic Surgeon her first question was “can something be done with my breasts?”  She did not like the shape of her breasts or the position of her nipples. She desired to be a 38C. She did not want to have breast implants if it could be avoided. She was unhappy with the excess skin along her upper back as well.
 
The patient was given the option of a breast “auto augmentation” using the tissue from her back upper body lift to fill her breasts. A breast lift would also be performed to remove excess breast skin.
 
In the operating room while the patient was on her stomach, the excess skin and subcutaneous tissue was removed from her back but remained connected to patient. The incisions on the back were closed with sutures placed under the skin followed by glue.
 
The patient was turned over on the operating table. The excess back tissue was trimmed to the volume necessary to augment her breasts. The skin envelope was reduced and the nipple was raised to correct the deformity caused by her massive weight loss. 
 
The patient was extremely pleased with her results. She was happy she did not to have breasts implants. She is looking forward to having more surgery to correct deformities elsewhere on her body due to her massive weight loss.  She has a five year plan to obtain all the necessary procedures.
