Before   After

This 57 year old male, 3 years after an open gastric-bypass requested a massive weight loss reconstructive consultation with an Association of South Bay Plastic Surgeon.

The patient is 6 feet 1 inch tall and his weight before gastric bypass was 545 pounds with a Body Mass Index of 72. He lost 320 lbs over the next three years and his weight stabilized at 225 pounds and with a Body Mass Index of 30.

The patient was very upset with the appearance of his arms. The floppy loose excess skin on his arms was very uncomfortable. After a discussion of the alternatives of treatment with an Association of South Bay Plastic Surgeon, the patient decided to have an arm lift, also known as a brachioplasty.

In the operating room while the patient was asleep, the excess skin and subcutaneous tissue was removed from his arms. The incisions were closed with sutures under the skin followed by glue.

The patient was extremely pleased with the results of the surgery. His clothes fit and looked better. He has a five year plan to obtain all the necessary procedures to make his body look normal.
