After Massive Weight Loss Before & After Photos

This 57 year old male, 3 years after an open gastric-bypass requested a massive weight loss reconstructive consultation with an Association of South Bay Plastic Surgeon.

The patient is 6 feet 1 inch tall and his weight before gastric bypass was 545 pounds with a Body Mass Index of 72. He lost 320 lbs over the next three years and his weight stabilized at 225 pounds and with a Body Mass Index of 30.

The patient was frustrated with the appearance of his upper body. The floppy loose excess skin on his chest was very uncomfortable. He had frequent rashes under the folds of his breasts. After a discussion of the alternatives of treatment with an Association of South Bay Plastic Surgeon the patient decided to have an upper body lift including contouring of his chest.

In the operating room while the patient was asleep, he was placed in on his stomach. The excess skin and subcutaneous tissue was removed from his back. The incisions on the back were closed with sutures under the skin followed by glue.

The patient was turned over onto his back. The removal of his excess upper body skin and subcutaneous tissue was continued on his chest. His nipple was placed in the normal position to correct the breast deformities caused by his massive weight loss.

The patient was extremely pleased with the results of the surgery. His clothes fit and looked better. He felt his upper body and chest were normal. He has a five year plan to obtain all the necessary procedures to make his body look normal.
