After Massive Weight Loss, Arm Lift Before & After Photos

This patient is a 44 year old woman who lost 128 pounds after laparoscopic gastric bypass. She is 5ft 6 inches tall and her weight before gastric bypass was 286 pounds with a Body Mass Index of 46. Her weight stabilized at 158 pounds with a Body Mass Index of 26.
 
She wished to have the excess skin removed from her abdomen, arms, and lower extremities. The patient and her surgeon decided to utilize three stages, separated by three to six months, to reach her goals.
 
Her first stage was an abdominoplasty. Her second stage was an arm lift (also known as a brachioplasty) extending into her arm pits.
 
In the operating room, with the patient asleep, two Plastic Surgeons working as a team performed the excision of the excess skin and fat from the upper arm. Her skin was repaired with dissolvable sutures and special glue.
 
She was very happy with her appearance and the loss of the flabby skin on her upper arms. Her third stage massive weight loss reconstructive procedure will address her thighs and it is scheduled in six months.
