Abdominoplasty Before & After Photos

This patient is a 36 year old mother of triplets (two boys and one girl) who were delivered by c-section. She is 5ft 7inches 152 pounds with a Body Mass Index of 24.

She complained of appearing to be pregnant because her bulging tummy. She has discomfort in the area of her belly-button because of a hernia that developed during her pregnancy. She stated that it was difficult for her to fit into the clothes she had before her pregnancy.

She wished to have her hernia repaired and to restore her tummy to the condition it was before her pregnancy.

In the operating room under general anesthesia the General Surgeon repaired her belly-button hernia.

Following the hernia repair, an abdominoplasty was performed by two Plastic Surgeons working as a team. The skin and subcutaneous tissues were separated from the fascia covering the anterior abdominal muscles. The muscles of the anterior abdomen were tightened. The skin of the abdomen was pulled-down and almost 2 pounds of skin were removed. The belly-button was relocated to the proper position. The incision was closed with all the sutures placed under the skin and special glue.

The patient and her husband were delighted with her new appearance. The discomfort she had in the area of her hernia disappeared. She was now able to wear her pre-pregnancy clothes again.
