After Massive Weight Loss Before & After Photos

This 51 year old female weighed 260 pounds and she had a Body Mass Index of 47 before her open gastric bypass procedure. She lost 75 lbs over the next 18 months and her weight stabilized at 185 pounds and with a Body Mass Index of 33.

She developed a large abdominal hernia a few months after her open gastric-bypass surgery. The patient had a hernia repair and abdominoplasty performed by her Bariatric Surgeon. Her belly button could not be preserved during her hernia repair.

The patient developed problems healing her abdominal incision because of areas of skin loss. Her abdominal incision eventually healed after three months of aggressive wound care.

The patient came to our office because of concerns about the appearance of her lower abdominal incision area. She felt constant tightness and discomfort in the areas of scarring. It was very difficult for her to find clothes that fit properly.

The patient desired to further improve the shape of her abdomen, back, and thighs. Our Los Angeles Plastic Surgeons recommended a staged approach with Ultrasonic Liposuction of these areas first followed by a Belt Lipectomy. The patient and her husband happily agreed with this plan.

Ultrasonic Liposuction was performed of her abdomen, back, and thighs removing 5000cc’s of fat from these areas. Three months later, a Belt Lipectomy was performed removing 5 pounds of excess fat and skin from around her waist.

The patient and her husband were very pleased with her results. She was so happy to fit into regular normal clothes for the first time in many years. They are delighted and they are eager to proceed with the next stage of her reconstructive surgery after massive weight loss to address the excess skin on her arms and legs.
